Jesus Is the Light

Sometimes, life is hopeless like a tunnel that is in total darkness.  The only hope for me is to keep looking to the little light at the end of the tunnel.  That light is Jesus, for he said, "I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." (John 8:12)  If I did not know Jesus, I don't  know if I would still be alive today.  He helped me so many times when I was sad and lonely.  Without him, I might have drawn in the Mekong River, or may be dead by starvation or get shot and died in the jungle of Laos.  He is like the light at the end of the tunnel for me, and at the same time he is my friend who is walking beside and is a comfort to me also.

After the Vietnam War ended in 1975, thousands of Hmong had to leave their homes and escape to the jungle. I am one of them, still a small boy.  For three years, we lived in the jungles, moved from one place to another not knowing what would happen to us the next hour or the next day.  We had no food, no salt. Tree barks and roots were our daily food.  Using fire to cook was very dangerous. If the communist soldiers saw smoke or light they would shoot a cannon into the area.  We lived in total darkness--- even a flashlight was not allowed sometime.  One time our group was attack by the communist soldiers, and we all ran in separate ways.  How we found each other at night was to make animal sounds.  Oh how terrified I was when I was all alone in the jungle that night.  I didn't know which direction to go.  When I heard noise or people whisper I didn't care how thick the woods and the bamboo were because I was pressing through to get to them.  That night many people fell off a cliff on top of one another because it was so dark and  it was impossible to see what had happened to the person in front of you.

You may not have the same experience like I have, but your experience of darkness may be different kinds.   They could be spiritual or physical; they could be that you are sick physically or emotionally or maybe your loved ones have left you and you are all alone.  Jesus can be your friend in such time like this.  I left my parents in Laos and came to the United States alone.  I was very sad and lonely at the time, I remember going to bed and crying, only my pillow knows how much I cried.  No one could ask me about my parents, if they did, my tears began to pour before I could answer them.  I have many suicidal though and my hope is gone.  I was on 12th grade at the time, my grade were bad.  Finally, I quit school.  One night my friend invite me to a prayer meeting, the pastor pray for me, I accept Jesus into my heart and I was fill with the Holy Spirit that night.  Since then, the sadness and loneliness was totally disappear from my life.  Jesus give me hope and the purpose to live again.  I went back to school, graduated and went to Bible College.  Thanks be to God, that by His grace I have been saved, through faith.  If Jesus can turn my life around He can do the same for you.  He is more willing to be your friend and helper.  All you have to do is invite him into your heart.

Oh, How much Jesus loves you and me.  Jesus is the best friend and comforter I ever had.  I may not see him with my natural eyes, but I can feel his presence and comfort.  His love is like a blanket cover me, He holds me like a mother who would hold her child.  Before he saved me, I was like a kid that was beaten and left to death at the trash dumpster, but He picked me up, washed me and took me to his home and love me as I am His only son.  What a wonderful Father that I have, He is my God and your God.  If you want to fall in love, fall in love with Jesus.  He is a faithful friend that will never abundant you.  He doesn't get tired or push us aside but love for us to the very end.  You may have friends that broke your heart, but Jesus never will.  He doesn't lie, He doesn't cheat, when he speaks, His love echo to the bottom of your soul.

I invite you to ask Jesus to be your friend, surrender all your fears, you doubts and concerns on the feet of Jesus.  Let Him fill your heart with the joy of His salvation.  Ask him to forgive all of your sins, he will forgive you.  When he forgive your sins and receives you as His child you will find joy, happiness and the purpose to live in this world.  You may still sad and unhappy sometimes, because we are human being but the Good News is, Jesus is with you now and He is carrying your problem now, you are not carry anymore. He also give you eternal life.  The Bible said in the book of John chapter 3 verse 16, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16 NIV). Only Jesus can offers you this gift of eternal life, no one else can.  This eternal life is His free gift to you, is not because you deserved it, but because of his love.  He will make you a brand new person.  Pray to him and believe that He loves you.

Starting today and read your Bible, if you don't have one, ask the church near you to give you one.  When you read it, allow the Holy Spirit to speaks to you through His word.  When you have a problem, talk to him about it.  He will help you.  His word will bring you hope, and your hope is in Christ, in Christ there is no darkness, if you are in Christ you are in the light.

I encourage you to click on this site: christiananswers.net and watch and listen to the story of the Bible.
